Jimmie Wilson, 90, passed away on April 9, 2026. He was born in Anderson, Missouri, on December 20, 1935, to Delancy Wilson and Frances Petrovich-Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Loretta Wilson; his parents; his mother- and father-in-law, Phil and Veta Bonfiglio; Myrtle Wilson; his brother, Billy Wilson; and his sisters, Pansy (Claude) Mayber, Betty (Robert) Smith, and Marie (Ray) Horvat.
Jimmie graduated from Central High School in 1955. He was a proud football, basketball and baseball player for the Wildcats. Jimmie worked at the C F & I Steel Mill as a brick layer for 30 years. He received the Sollie Raso Award and was recently inducted into the Steelworkers Hall of Fame.
Jimmie was a wonderful husband, father, and Papa. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and supported them in all their activities. He was always willing to play ball with his grandchildren. He loved trips to Cripple Creek and Las Vegas, family gatherings, spending time at the cabin, and attending Central football and baseball games—especially the Bell Game. He was also an avid fan of the Broncos, Nuggets, and Rockies.
Jimmie is survived by his loving children, Debbie (Jinx) Johnson and Philene (Marty) Alfonso; his grandchildren, Cherise (Mikey) Johnson-Atencio, Zach (Raylene) Johnson, Brandon (Ashley) Alfonso, Biranda (Steve) Seidel, and Brandis Alfonso; his great-grandchildren, Devean (Amanda) Johnson, Cali Atencio, Connor and Ella Johnson, Arlie and Lucca Alfonso, Roma and Gracie Seidel, and Rudi Sue Alfonso; his sister, Terry Sue Hanrick; his brother, Clifford (Karen) Wilson; and several cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved him and will miss Jimmie very much.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Yanera, Zolanye and the entire McCulley family for their love, kindness and support. Also, a heartfelt gratitude to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice(Alli, Heather, Deb, Donitta, Jason, Aude & Collin) and caregivers Virginia, Marcellous, Olivia, Phyllis, Gladys, Angelia & Kyna.
Funeral Mass, 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Goodnight Ave. Father Michael Chrisman officiating. The family will receive friends and family at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart Hall, 414 West 11th St. following the Mass.
