John Jacob Madrid passed away May 31st, 2025. He was born May 23rd, 1987. John also lost his loving wife Jessica (Farmer) Madrid in the week following his death. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Lenora and Bill Hegler, cousin Brian White, various other family members, and his faithful dog Caia.
John was a lifelong Pueblo resident whose talent working with his hands led him to an occupation he loved and was surrounded by a family of co-workers at the GCC Pueblo Plant whose caring and compassion are unmatched.
His smile, and his laughter, is something everyone will remember him by and were only a couple of the many traits that made him such an amazing husband, son, son-in-law, brother, grandson, nephew, co-worker, and friend to anyone that knew him. A role model for his younger brother, John was always so proud of Jeremiah. His work ethic and willingness to help anyone in need was another of his many qualities.
John is survived by his parents Sandy (Todd) Markus; mother and father-in-law Donna (Vernell) Mills; brother Jeremiah; father John Madrid; numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and his loving dog Toki.
We didn’t know the amount of compassionate and loving friends and co-workers John has had in his life. Your thoughts and prayers during this time have given us comfort and reassurance that John had a purpose in this life.
He has a left a hole in all of our hearts and will be greatly missed.
