Johnny Michael Chavez, 56, passed away November 18, 2025. A lifetime Puebloan he was born June 9 1969 to parents, Johnny and Frances (Hernandez) Chavez. Preceded in death by his father, Johnny Chavez along with his grandparents, John and Annie Hernandez.
Johnny was a proud Central High School graduate, Class of 1987. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed cooking and watching The Denver Broncos, win or lose. He was always there to help anyone in need. He would take his shirt off his back and give it to you. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids, who were his world.
Johnny is survived by his mother, Frances Chavez; sister, Rebecca Chavez-Tafoya; brother, Christopher (Julie) Chavez; children, Ashley Chavez, Ar’riyana Trujillo, Johnny Chavez, Anthony Chavez and Kiven Oconnell; and 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Damian, Jaylene, Juanito, Tayla, and Jazlyne.
Funeral Service, 1 pm, Thurs., Dec. 4, 2025 at The Angelus Chapel.
