Obituary

Jolene was taken home to our lord and savior on April 21st, 2023, in the presence of family. 

Celebration of Life will be held on May 2nd 2023 at Praise Assembly church at 10:00am. The family asks that you join them after the service in the fellowship hall for a reception. 

She was born on July 30th 1974 to Milton and Linda Gallegos in Pueblo Colorado where she lived all her life. She was a Central high school graduate in 1992. Jolene had various jobs through her life including being a personal care assistant and a mixologist. Jolene had three children, Diego, Jailen and Melina who she loved with her entire heart. Jolene was kind, competitive, encouraging, but mostly loving she had a true love for all of the friends and family in her life. Her love for her family and friends was closely followed by her love for the sport of basketball, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She loved all animals especially her dog “Big Boy”and her bird Sully. The sport of basketball had a special place in Jolene’s heart, and she was honored to be called the coach of the Hackers basketball team. Jolene is described to have had a contagious laugh and to have been an impeccable ball player. She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by all. 

 

Jolene is survived by her parents Milton and Linda Gallegos; her children, Diego (Tosha) Minnich, Jailen (Ryan) Gallegos, Melina Minnich; her brother William (Jorjann Houpts) Gallegos; her grandchildren Amaziah Lopez, Zaxon and Paetyn Gallegos and a baby Minnich on the way; her niece Krissie Lucero Gallegos (Manny) her nephew Braydon Houpts-Gallegos;  her great nephews Kashius and Giannis, uncles and aunts; Ron, Jess, Ernie Marquez, Lorraine Padilla, Rick, Ben and Paul (Martha) Martinez, Charlotte Santistevan, Sandy Vigil, Susan (John) Gonzales, Rick and Kenny Barreras, God Parents; Herbert and Alice Soto, Best friends; Norma and Ramon “Chito” Salinas, Stormy Torres and Patty Aragon. Jolene is proceeded in death by her grandparents Rudy and Rita Marquez, Joe and Viola Barreras; uncles; Ray Santistevan and Carl Padilla, aunt; Roberta Quintana, special friends; Melanie Martinez,  and Leticia “Weda” Salinas.
