Josephine Frances Gallegos, affectionately known as “Josie” 82, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2025. She was born June 12, 1942 in Walsenburg, Colorado to parents, Alfred and Carmen Baca. Both precede her in death along with her husband, Gabriel Gallegos; her brothers, Danny and Henry Baca; her sister, Viola Arguello; her daughter, Carmen Gallegos, her son, Leo Gallegos and her grandson, Gabe Gallegos.
Josie loved going to church, fishing, bingo and Cripple Creek. Her hobby was making rosaries for everyone she came in contact with, which included the homeless. Most of all she loved her grandchildren. She would always say “I’m the richest woman alive!” Josie would say because she was blessed with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by many. Never forgotten.
Josie is survived by her children, Nora Garcia, Linda (Mike) Saenz, Larry (Stella) Gallegos, Tony (Angie) Gallegos, Michael (Esther) Gallegos, Connie (Angelo) Romero, Josie (Nick) Rudd and Esther Gallegos; multiple grand and great grandkids; brothers and sisters, Robert (Barbara) Baca, Betty Chacon, Leroy (Irene) Baca, Della (John) Quintana, Andy (Janet) Baca, Monica (Craig) Spradlin and Yvette (Michael) Gonzales.
Rosary, 9:30 am and Funeral Mass, 10 am, Wed., April 30, 2025 both at St. Anne Catholic Church.
