Josiah J. Gonzales Lucero

Josiah J. Gonzales Lucero, 13, passed away March 30, 2024. He was born in New Mexico on January 20, 2011 to proud parents, Valerie C.A. (Gonzales) Sandoval and Jeffrey Lucero. Josiah is preceded in death by his grandma, Maria Lucero; great grandma, Amalia Montaña; and aunt, Evangeline Gonzales.

Josiah was a 7th grader at Skyview Middle School. He loved pranking everyone and had such a great sense of humor. Josiah had a heart of gold and enjoyed sharing his love with everyone. Josiah loved playing his games with his brother, Christian. Fortnite and Roblox were his favorites. He enjoyed going to the park and walking to the pond. He was a good swimmer and loved arts & crafts. He was always experimenting, slime was his favorite. Josiah enjoyed cooking with his mom. Cereal was one of Josiah’s favorites to include bean and cheese burritos, Spanish rice, spicy ramen noodles, chips and salsa, grilled cheese sandwiches and going to get Starbucks. He loved to sing songs from Ice Spice, Nikki Minaj, Doja Cat and Sza. One of his biggest joys was hanging out with his sister, Evangeline; brothers, Gabriel and Christian; and cousins, Lina and Jordan Varela, doing all the typical things teenagers do with their mischievous looks.

Josiah is survived by his parents, Valerie Gonzales (Matthew) Sandoval and Jeffrey Lucero; siblings, Christian Gonzales, Gabriel Sandoval and Evangeline Sandoval; grandparents, Frank (Irene B. Delgado) Gonzales, Amy Rosa, Sarah Lovato; aunts and uncles,  Angie Gonzales, Anthony (Kristina) Sandoval, Johnny (Amanda Cole) Sandoval, Christie Lovato, Vincent Lovato, Christian Lovato, Jeremy Lucero and Valerie (Juan) Macias, Nino Greg and Nina Rose; multiple cousins, Enoch, Nathan, Jaden, Chasity and Kimberlynn; who loved and will miss him.

All services are open to family and friends.

Rosary, 5:30 pm and Funeral Mass, to follow at 6 pm, both Mon., April 8, 2024 at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Pueblo West, CO.
