Julie S. Firestone

Julie S. Firestone, 85, passed away Nov. 26, 2024. She was born Nov. 23, 1939 in Madrid, New Mexico to parents, Ignacio and Carmelita (Riggio) Cruz. They both precede her in death along with; her former husband, Thomas L. Kautz Sr.; her husband Thomas A. Firestone; daughter, Donna Oestreich; son, Jim Matamoros; siblings, Tommy Cruz, George Cruz, Nash Cruz, Bobby Cruz, baby Florence Cruz, Florence Cruz, and Rose Juarez.

Julie was born in Madrid, New Mexico and was raised in Aguilar, CO. She was a CNA for 35 years. She enjoyed going to Cripple Creek and often visited the Santuario. Julie had such a spiritual connection. She loved Spanish music, dancing and doing ceramics. She loved spending time with her family and friends, gathering and cooking for them.  Her grandchildren were so important to her. 

Julie is survived by her daughter, Trudy (Orley) Aragon; son, Thomas L. Kautz Jr.; grandchildren, Amanda (Bennie) Villanueva, Thomas Kautz III (Carla), Joe Kautz (Ariel), Jimmy Matamoros (Keera), Natasha Matamoros, and Anthony (Sharla) Matamoros; great grandchildren, Anavey Kautz, Jordyn Kautz, and Amya Kautz; siblings, Paul Cruz, Bennie (Sophie) Cruz, Patty (Raul) Sanchez, Linda Smith, and Vicky (David) Sneed; and her fur baby, Mickey; numerous family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
