In Loving Memory of Lecia Marie Pantleo
May 13, 1969 – March 30, 2026
Lecia Marie Pantleo, age 57, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on March 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unmatched patience, nurturing care, and a heart that was open to everyone she met.
A Foundation of Family and Adventure
Born on May 13, 1969, Lecia’s story began in Fremont County, where her vibrant personality first took root. Her childhood was defined by the joy of growing up alongside her sisters and the cherished, sun-drenched summers spent with her grandparents in Almont, Colorado.
During her years at Florence High School, Lecia was a whirlwind of activity and talent. Whether she was performing in theater, singing in the choir, competing in the pool with the swim team, or cheering from the sidelines, she brought an infectious energy to everything she touched. Lecia married in 1995 to Mr. Patrick Lyn Pantleo of Pueblo, CO.
Together, the couple welcomed four sons into the world. Lecia enjoyed being a mother most in life. She forever doted
on her four sons. Lecia encouraged her sons to do their very best in school and demanded of them impeccable manners. Lecia enjoyed being a mother of boys. She loved supporting them and encouraging them to be their best while being compassionate to others.
A Lifetime of Nurturing Others
Lecia found her true calling in the world of education. Throughout her career of teaching, counseling, or administrating, she operated with a rare blend of perfection and pride. She didn’t just manage her classroom or entire school buildings, she mentored souls.
To her students, she was a life guide; to her colleagues, she was a pillar of strength. Lecia had a "mother’s heart" that extended far beyond her own family, acting as a maternal figure to everyone with whom she came into contact. Her patience was legendary, and her ability to nurture the potential in others was her greatest gift to the world.
Her Lasting Legacy
Lecia will be remembered as a caring, loving, and deeply nurturing soul who believed that kindness was a professional and personal requirement. She transformed lives through her work and warmed them through her friendship. Lecia did all of these amazing things while battling neuroendocrine cancer since June 26, 2008. For 18 years, she endured scans, blood draws, chemo therapy, immunotherapy, and 8 rounds of radiation. Lecia was tenacious and spirited, earning a Masters in Counseling and a Masters in School Administration from Tarleton State University in May of 2006 and her superintendent certification from West Texas A&M University in December of 2018.
She raised her four sons, nurtured and supported her husband in his professional career as an Army Bandsmen and a Band Director.
Lecia’s legacy will be that she inspired us all to achieve our best because she achieved her best in the face of such adversity and always carried on. The family requests that, in lieu flowers, a donation be made in her name to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation. https://netrf.org/get-involved/give-now/
