Leo Fernandez, 68, passed away August 16, 2024. He was born in Colorado to parents, Leo W. and Ramona V. (Atencio) Fernandez. They both precede him in death along with his siblings, William L. Fernandez, Maurice W. Fernandez, Viola M. Fernandez Neff, Gordon Dean and Richard Russell.
Leo proudly served 2 years in the U.S. Army after high school. He went on to work as a backhoe operator in the construction field. He enjoyed fishing, collecting rocks and cheering on the Broncos. He was always wearing his go to outfit, blue jeans, a flannel shirt and cowboy boots. Leo’s favorite saying was “I Got You!”. Most of all Leo loved spending quality time with his family and friends.
Leo is survived by his sisters, Patricia A. Purderbaugh, Betty L. Powell and Roxana Fernandez (special brother-in-law, Mark) Richardson; brother, Richard I. Fernandez; special nephew, Dominic J. Coatney; niece, Amanda M. Coatney and children; nephew, David (Becky) Fernandez, special friend, Lukas Lucero; and numerous other family members and friends who loved and will miss him.
At his request cremation, no formal services.
