Leonard A. Pace Jr., 94, a lifelong resident of Pueblo, passed away on July 23, 2025. He was born on April 18, 1931, to Leonard A. and Mable (Langley) Pace Sr., who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his beloved wife, Nathleen Pace; his brother, James L. (Dorothy) Pace; sister, Barbara (Jack) Comaianni; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
Leonard proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War and held the title of Marine All-Service Boxing Champion—an accomplishment he cherished. Following his military service, he earned a degree in Secondary Education from Adams State College and fondly remembered his time as a student teacher at Centennial High School.
In 1958, Leonard and his brother Jim founded Pace Construction. Together, they built a reputation for excellence and integrity, proudly serving their community. Their craftsmanship left a lasting mark across Pueblo—there wasn't a neighborhood in the city or county where the Pace Brothers hadn’t built a home.
Leonard is survived by his son, Leonard A. Pace III; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Mike Bezake and the Coffee Guys, Beverly Mastro, and a special shoutout to all the Italians from Goat Hill. A very special thank-you to Nick Pace for his daily visits, which meant so much to Leonard.
Cremation has taken place. Private family gathering at a later date.
