Louis Romero was born April 19, 1950 in La Junta, Colorado, the second son of Joseph and Katie (Ortega) Romero. Both precede him in death along with his brothers, Joseph Jr., Robert and William and sisters, Hope Rodriguez and Barbara Romero. He passed away March 8, 2024 in Victorville, California, his home for the last twenty-six years.
Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Pueblo where he lived for most of his life. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served as an Air Force medic and after returning to Pueblo he worked in the CF&I steel mill and then worked in Civil Service with the Department of Defense. At the time he left Pueblo he worked at the Air Force Academy.
Louis is survived by his wife Barbara Richey-Romero of Victorville, California. He is survived by three daughters; Bella Trujillo (Randy), their children Noel (Derrick) Baros and Gage Trujillo; Christina Romero and her children Andrew (Bianca Garcia) and Angel Romero and Brandy Aguilar and her child Victoria Aguilar. He is survived by five great-grandchildren; Olivia and Mila Baros, Dean Trujillo and Orion and Neyalie Romero. In addition, he is survived by brother, Richard Romero and numerous nieces and nephews. He was truly loved and will be missed.
