Madalena Gurule, 87, passed away June 24, 2024. She was born November 9, 1936 in Trinidad, Colorado to parents, Andres and Emma (Rivera) Gomez. Both precede her in death along with her husband, Rudolph J. Gurule Sr., and sons, Dwayne E. Gurule and Euberto Gurule.
Madalena was strong in her faith, always praying for everyone. For many years she served as an Altar Server. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. She loved to dance with her family members. Madalena was known as “Speedy Gonzales”, she was a fast driver. Her kids stated she was their “Spanish Lucy”, and very gullible. Madalena enjoyed sharing her life stories, her words of wisdom and her love for each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her kindness and loving heart.
Madalena is survived by her children, Rudolph (Diana) Gurule Jr., Darla (David) Diaz, Michael (LaDon) Gurule, John Jack (Arlene) Gurule, and Dwayne Rudy (Vee) Gurule; grandchildren, Genevieve (Cory) Chapman, Victoria (Sam) Tucker, Alexandria, Savannah, Eryn, and Christopher; great grandchildren, Harley, Justin, Jaylee, Anthony, Isabella, Eli, William, and Chadwick; siblings, Linda Hubbard, Mary Alice Gomez, Richard (Rosie) Gomez, and Tony Gomez; god children, Myra, Shirley, Lydia, Antoinette, Levi, and Rhonda; in-laws, Betty (Fred) Gagliardi, Albert Gurule, and Florence Lucero; and her four-legged soulmate, Baxter.
Mass of Christian Burial, 10 am, Fri., July 5, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Avondale. Interment, St. Vrain Cemetery.
