Maria "Sadie" Hawkins

Maria Hawkins, 83, also known as “Sadie”, passed away Tuesday January 28, 2025. She was born February 6, 1941 in Amalia, New Mexico to parents, Joe and Sinforosa (Arellano) Espinoza. Preceded in death by her mother, along with her brother, Eddie; sisters, Frances and Kathy; and great granddaughter, Penelope.

Maria was a business owner with her husband Ralph of Custom Shoe Shop. She enjoyed her home, working in the yard, reading, and in her younger days she enjoyed camping, painting ceramics and sewing.

Maria is survived by her husband, Ralph; daughters, AnnMarie Peralta and Alisha (Josh Deshaies) Hawkins; grandchildren, Kevin, Marisa, Taylor, Elijah, Austin, Devin, and Raquael; great grandchildren, Jayden, Liliana, Jaciana, Jamie, Mya, Cedelia, and Thea; siblings, Bernie (Salvador) Duran, Louise Montez, Norbert (Roberta) Espinoza and Larry Espinoza; also survived by Briggs, Joe; niece, Victoria and many other friends and family.

Funeral Service, 10 am, Wed., Feb. 5, 2025 at The Angelus Chapel. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery.
