Mary Jane Valdez

Mary Jane Valdez, 89, passed away October 15, 2025. She was born October 9, 1936 in Farista, Colorado to parents, Moises and Della (Garcia) Castillo. Both precede her in death along with her son, Wayne Matthew Valdez; sisters and brothers

Mary Jane was a high school graduate. She was a devoted wife, mother and cook. She was a Girl Scout leader and sold Avon for many years. She worked and volunteered at St. Mary Corwin Hospital. Mary Jane was a certified Master Gardner. She liked to travel with her family and friends. Mary Jane liked to watch her Westerns on TV and enjoyed time spent at the family ranch.

Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 71 years, Benjamin E. Valdez aka Eufelio Benjamin Valdez; children, Carol Valdez Broome, Betty Jean Valdez and Benjamin K. Valdez; daughter-in-law, Sandy Reinsch; 2 granddaughters, Christina (David) Clonts and Abbey Valdez; sister, Joann Byers; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service, 10 am, Mon., Oct. 20, 2025 at The Angelus Chapel. Internment, 2 pm, Pikes Peak National Cemetery, Colo. Springs, CO.

A light brunch will be served immediately following  the Funeral Service.
