Michael Anthony Mentz, 23, passed away unexpectedly November 11, 2025. A lifetime Puebloan, he was born May 26, 2002 to proud mother, Michelle Aragon Chatman. Preceded in death by his great grandma, Mary Gutierrez.
Michael graduated from South High School, Class of 2020, where he enjoyed playing on the football team. He was a great cook, enjoyed working on cars, fishing, snowboarding, and was an avid reader. Michael enjoyed art and crafts to include drawing, painting, pottery, and crocheting. He also made beautiful candles. He was a big fan of The Miami Dolphins and The Denver Broncos. He had a big heart, always wanting to help in any way possible. His niece Justice was his pride and joy. He always loved comforting her and teaching her how to swim, she was his "little fish". Michael worked at Taco Bell, Parkview Hospital, King Soopers, Sam’s Club, Safeway, Pizza King, Midwest Fabrication & Steel and lastly at Fed Ex, where he made many acquaintances. He was a hard worker and great provider. Michael’s biggest joy was being with family; it was very important to him to have family time. Going to the movies, shopping, and cooking for each of them. Michael was loved and will be truly missed.
Michael is survived by his mother, Michelle Chatman; grandparents, Vivian (Don) Woods, and Daniel Aragon; great grandma, Claudine Bricker; siblings, Brittany Chatman, Christopher Flowers, Dreaa Burgress, Amber Vigil, and Maxx Schneider; aunt, Angela (Phillip) Henslee; uncle, Dominic (Saunder) Aragon; and niece, Justice Sais.
