Michael A. Valdez, 71, affectionately known as “Pompo” passed away March 18, 2022. A lifetime Puebloan, he was born March 7, 1951. He is preceded in death by his parents Patricio Valdez, Ruth Garcia, and Bob Garcia; siblings, Kenny Valdez, Leonard Valdez, and Eleanor Manriquez; grandchild, Antonio; great-grandchild, Jaycion; father-in-law, Jim Sprague.
He enjoyed to play pool, working on cars and was an avid Bronco fan. He had a great sense of humor, a jokester. He would lend a helping hand to anyone. He supported his grandchildren in all their sporting events, and never missed a family event. He loved spending time with his family.
Michael is survived by his wife, Debby Valdez; children, Tre (Diana) Valdez, Desi Sandoval, Birdie (Daniel) Valdez- Estergard, Angelo (Renee) Valdez, Rocky (Allesha) Valdez-Kinsley, ; DeAnna Register, Katrina Burelson, Connie Jo Trujillo, and Bridget (Tim) Valdez- Washington; 26 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Gonzales; in-laws, David (Myra) Sprague, Mike Sprague, and Cheryl Brassfield; special aunt, Florine; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends who will miss him dearly.
