Michael A. Worthington, 65, passed away on April 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Worthington, and his brother, Ruben Moreno. He is survived by his mother, Irene Moreno, his sister, Ramona Cordova, his children, Jennifer (Dustin) Vigil, Christopher Worthington, and stepchild Janette (Matt) Ackerman, as well as numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Michael was born in 1957 in Pueblo, Colorado. He attended Central High School and shortly afterwards, in 1976, he joined the military. He served three years in the U. S. Army, and he traveled overseas to Germany. He was awarded Driver (Badge); Driver-T; Marksman (Rifle); Grenade (Expert). He was honorably discharged in 1979. He began his medical career as a transportation tech at St. Mary-Corwin hospital shortly after his return to Pueblo, and after receiving training, worked in the OR’s of both Pueblo hospitals as a Certified Auto-Transfusionist for many years. In his spare time he loved to give people rides for Arch’s Pedi taxi during events such as the Colorado State Fair.
Michael enjoyed sports, especially football, riding his bike, swimming, fishing, concerts, hiking, camping, playing with his grandchildren, helping out at his friend’s buffalo ranch and visiting with each of his many friends. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed his help.
Beloved son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Service will be held 11 am, Monday, April 17, 2023 at Angelus Chapel.
