Miguel Gonzales, 27, passed away Feb. 22, 2026. He was born July 29, 1998 to Phil Gonzales and Rena Gonzales. He is preceded in death by his father, Phil Gonzales Jr.; his grandfathers, Ronald Pacheco Sr., Bruce Withhorn (Oyate Dakota Sioux Tribe), and Phil “Jinx” Gonzales; his grandmothers, Elaine Garcia and Unci Marie Braveheart (South Dakota Sioux Tribe); his great-grandmothers, Carlotta Garcia and Nettie Quintana of Walsenburg; his great-grandfather Jose Romero of Walsenburg (who called him big ears) and his uncle, Brian Pacheco.
He leaves behind his loving spouse, Arabella Miera, and his cherished children, daughter Marcelina Gonzales and son Aavion Acers, who were the center of his world. Miguel was a proud and devoted father who loved his children beyond measure and treasured every moment spent with them.
He also leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Rena Gonzales; his sisters , Marissa (Carlos) Romero, Jordan McBride, and Lexi McBride; his brothers, Ambrosio (Bella) Gonzales, Abram Gonzales, and Jayden, Trevin, and Quentin Jr. McBride of South Dakota; his nephews, Giovanny and Ezra Ventura; his niece Adalyn Gonzales; his second mother and father, Paul and Kristin Baca, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who loved him dearly.
Miguel graduated from Central High School in 2017. Growing up, he participated in wrestling, football, and basketball, always bringing determination and heart to every team he joined. He enjoyed playing video games and was known as a professional paintball player, a sport he truly loved. Whether on the field, at home, or among friends, Miguel’s personality shined brightly.
Above all, Miguel was a family man. He loved everyone deeply, especially his children, and he made sure those around him felt valued and appreciated. His legacy of love, strength, and laughter will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Parkview Hospital ICU staff for the compassionate care given during this difficult time.
Miguel’s life was a gift to us all. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the love that will never fade. He will forever be remembered and forever be missed.
