Patricia “Patty” Lou Vasile, 82, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Aug. 17, 2024. Born Sept. 6, 1941 in Pueblo to John and Elsie Dolak, Patty was the eldest child. She married Sam Vasile, her husband of 59 years, on Oct. 27, 1962, and welcomed three children, Kirk, Lori, and Greg, who they raised on the Mesa.
Patty will always be remembered for her generosity and kindness. She was a keen shopper who always had an eye for finding the perfect gifts for her loved ones. Patty took her role as a mother and grandmother seriously, making sure her family members knew they were deeply loved.
A 1959 graduate of Central High School, Patty spent the early part of her career working as an x-ray technician. She later became a teacher’s aide for District 70, taking special pride in the kindergarteners she taught, as well as her work in the school library. Patty was a talented piano player and dancer who didn’t miss any opportunity to be on the dance floor with Sam. Patty also was a dedicated friend and especially loved her Bunco games and trips to Cripple Creek.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband Sam Vasile; daughter, Lori Knuth; parents John and Elsie Dolak; sister Mary Ann Dolak; mother-in-law Rose Vasile; special cousin Donna Tate; grandson Gavin Vasile; numerous aunts and uncles; and many special in-laws. She is survived by her sons Kirk (Marleine) Vasile and Greg (Andrea) Vasile; son-in-law David Knuth; brother Jon (Sandy) Dolak; grandchildren Kyle (Kathleen) Knuth, Ashley (Victor) Martinez, Sara Knuth, Isabella Vasile, Charles Yonts, Madeline (Chance) Cooper and Natasha (Seth) Tudgay; great-grandchildren, Emrie, Avery, Bennett, Scarlett, Corbin, and Lowen; daughter-in-law Loretta Vasile (Joe Howes); sister-in-law Shirley Vasile; many special nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1145 S. Aspen Road in Pueblo, at 10 a.m. on Fri. Aug. 23. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
