It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick J. Lopez. After a long fight, our dad has been taken to his rightful place in heaven to join those who have gone before him. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Pat brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Born a St. Patrick's Day baby to Herminio and Della (Quintana) Lopez. Pat developed a passion for sports early in life and loved nothing more than testing his luck with a good bet, especially at the dog track. He was a lover of all sports, and was often seen cheering on the Colorado Avalanche or telling stories of his youth days playing for Denver North.
Above all, Pat was a family man. He loved spending time with his siblings, children, grandchildren and his wife Elizabeth of 48 years. He found joy in watching his kids and grandkids play sports and attended games with pride, encouragement and loved to celebrate their accomplishments.
Pat was a simple man with a big heart who had a witty, sarcastic sense of humor that could light up any room, making even the hardest days a little brighter.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Maestas) Lopez; his children, Chuck James (Kacey) Lopez, Geraldine Amanda (Mike) Sierra, Brenda Lee (Rocky) Duran, Bernadette Nicole Lopez, and Albert Patrick (Allie) Lopez; his siblings, Rose (Mark) Prochaska, Becky Trujillo, Betty (Gary) Gonzales, Jessie (Trish) Lopez, Paul (Norma) Lopez, and Ernestine “Cindy” (Mike) Trujillo; 12 grandchildren, Alyssa Lopez, Derek Lopez, Daniel Lopez, Alex Lopez, Aydan Soto, Michael Sierra, Alesia Sierra, Domnick Sierra, Julian Sierra, Shawn Duran, Chantel Duran, and Leilah Duran; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, aunts and uncles.
Rest in peace dad, your spirit, kindness and humor will forever live on in the hearts who loved you the most.
