Placido Alvarez, 92, a longtime resident of Avondale, CO, passed away Nov. 14, 2021. He was born Oct 5, 1929 in Colorado City, Texas to Domingo and Sofia (Lopez) Alvarez, both preceded him in death along with his wife Maria Rose (Valdez) Alvarez, his sister Eufemia Alvarez-Autobee, and sister-in-law Sara Alvarez. Placido retired from the Pueblo Army Depot with 30 years of Service. He and his wife Rose were very involved with their church Sacred heart of Avondale. Where they volunteered for the Jamica every year. He enjoyed lottery scratch tickets and going to Cripple Creek. Placido was a hard worker even after his retirement he went to work at Rusler’s farms operating the forklift. He always wanted to keep busy and help where he could. Placido is survived by his son Miguel Alvarez, siblings Bernardino (AnaMarie) Alvarez, Abraham Alvarez, and Marylou (Raymond) Lamas, several nieces nephews, and friends who will miss Placido. Service 9:30 a.m. Dec 3, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church in Avondale.
