Ramona Flores

Ramona Flores, 87, passed away Dec. 3, 2024. She was born May 15, 1937 in Midland, Texas to Candelario and Anita (Vasquez) Retana, both precede her in death along with her daughter, Anna Baca; her sister, Mary Lou Benitz; her brothers, Lupe, Val, Frank and Candelario Retana.

Ramona was the matriarch of 5 generations. She enjoyed shopping, watching movies, and going on short trips. In her early years she loved family gatherings making great Puerto Rican food, celebrating with music, dancing, sharing her life lessons, stories and much laughter.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Benjamin Burgos Flores; her children, Eva (Samuel) Madonado, Dolores Naranjo, Toby (Susan) Vigil, Jerry Vigil, Phil (Barbara) Vigil, Joseph (Daniela) Vigil, and Richard (Andrea) Vigil; her brother, Albert Retana; sister-in-law; 32 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
