Raymond (Ray) Martinez

Raymond "Ray" Martinez, 91, Pueblo, Colorado, passed away on Sept. 19, 2023 at his daughter's home with both his daughters present at his bedside.  He was born on  Aug. 15, 1932  to Adela Galban-Casaus who preceded him in death along with; stepfather, Jose Casaus; beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth in 2020; and his childhood best friend, Gilbert LeFebre in 2013. 

Ray married in 1956 to his lifetime partner Mary, and together they had two daughters. He leaves to cherish his memory, his two loving daughters, Gina Milano (David Hobelman), Bobbie Brenneisen (Kiko); grandsons,  Jason Montez, Kiko Brenneisen, Jr., and Derek Brenneisen; great-grandsons, Alex and Leo Montez, and great-granddaughter Isabel Montez. Special former son-in-law and friend, Michael Montez.; numerous nephews, nieces, and friends who will miss him dearly. 

Ray’s early career included working at the Pueblo Ordnance Depot, NORAD. He also worked as grounds supervisor at Imperial Memorial Gardens, and  retired from Roselawn Cemetery in 2001. 

Ray enjoyed working in his yard, and  going to Steve’s Klamm Shell with his friends to watch the Broncos play. He loved his cats, and dogs (especially Tiny). Mostly, Ray enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandsons. 

Celebration of Life service to be held  October 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Angelus Chapel.  Internment Roselawn Cemetery.
