Rev. Earl Dean Farris, 92, passed away July 27, 2025. He was born April 6, 1933 in Coffeville, Kansas to parents, Watt and Irene (Bean) Farris. Both precede him in death along with his wife, Onetta Sales Farris; siblings, William Farris, Erma Jean Sales, Luther Farris, Alvin Farris and Walter Farris; nephews, Terry Farris and Kevin Farris.
Earl proudly served 6 years in the U.S. Army where he used his swimming skills working as a lifeguard. He retired after 57 years as Pastor for The First AME Church of Pueblo. He also enjoyed fishing, watching all sports and was an avid collector of miniature clocks. He loved his trips to Cripple Creek and Blackhawk. Earl relocated to Aurora, CO. and resided at Garden Plaza Independent Living. He made many friends while living there. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with all of his nieces and nephews and their family meals every Sunday, catfish and barbeque were his favorites.
Earl is survived by his brother, Rev. H. Charles (Ray Jo) Farris of Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews to include, Stuart Sales, Gwen Love (Charles), Janet Redcross, Karen Simmons (Robert), Marsha Farris (Michael), Kerry Farris (Jennifer), Robin Farris, Brett Farris, Randy Farris (Comelita) and Dominic Sales (Kimberly); Earl and his late wife were godparents to many children, Lakesha Grissom from Utah and others.
Homegoing Celebration, 1 pm, Fri., Aug. 8, 2025 at The Angelus Chapel.
