Richard Dean Kiefer, 61, passed away on February 10, 2026. He was born on March 4, 1964, to Edward Kiefer and Guadalupe “Lupe” Lopez, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his spouse, Tammy Hernandez; his siblings, Florence Frazier, Robert Kiefer, Sophia Rohrer, Jimmy Kiefer, and Joseph Kiefer; and his stepdaughter, Gennipher Hernandez.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory his son, Richard Kiefer Jr.; Danielle (Colton) Houston; the mother of his children, Linda Dominguez; his stepchildren, Jackie Hernandez and Miguel Hernandez; his siblings, Jeannie Vasco, Edward Kiefer, Shirley (Alfonzo) Cruz, Rosemary Kiefer, and Diane Willis; his grandchildren, Makenzie Kiefer, Kaleb Kiefer, and Sophia Kiefer; his step-grandchildren, Xavier Hernandez and Geniasia Hernandez; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Richard was a graduate of Aguilar High School, where he was a standout athlete in baseball, basketball, and football. Known for his speed and determination, he was always a tough competitor on the field.
He was a kind-hearted man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Friendly and outgoing, Richard rarely met a stranger. He found peace in the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting.
Richard had a love for country and hard rock music and was an avid collector of knives and hatchets. Recently, he discovered a fondness for shopping on Temu, often joking that it felt like Christmas every day.
He will be remembered for his generous spirit, love of family, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
