Richard Luis Mayoral, age 76, passed away on January 6, 2026. He was born on March 3, 1949, in Taos, New Mexico, to proud parents John and Flora (Survy) Mayoral. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gilbert and Sonny Mayoral; his in-laws, Tobey Rael, Vera Rael Ortega and Issac Ortega; his brother-in-law, Rafael Chavez; his granddaughter Molly Ann, and his beloved special boy, Jack, who passed just two days before him.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a member of the Airborne Infantry with the 173rd Combat Support Battalion. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and was a two-time recipient of the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice.
On August 17, 1985, Richard married the love of his life, Kimberley Rael Mayoral. Together, they shared more than 40 years of marriage, raised four children, and cherished eight grandchildren. Richard was deeply rooted in his culture and traditions; he was a traditional Native American dancer and the owner of a Native American information center, where he shared his knowledge and heritage with others.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Kimberley Mayoral; his sister, Joanne “Cindy” Salvador; his children, Juan Mayoral, Francisco Mayoral, Vera Mayoral, Tiffany Mayoral, and Joseph Mayoral; and his grandchildren, Zoe Mayoral, Damani Mayoral, Pre Mayoral, Silas Mayoral, Arturo Mayoral, Lucie Mayoral, DellaRae Mayoral, and Joseph Mayoral Jr.
At Richard's request there will be a cremation. No services are scheduled at this time.
