Richard Armando Ybarra

Richard Armando Ybarra, 43, affectionately known as “Sleepy”, passed away Jan. 1, 2024. He was born July 3, 1980 in San Pedro, CA. to parents Armando Ybarra and Valerie Carrillo. Both precede him in death along with his son, Icidro Ybarra; grandparents, Dave and Stella Carrillo, and Rose Cardenas; aunt, Debbie Carrillo; uncle, Tony Carrillo; brothers, Armando and Robert Ybarra.

Richard enjoyed fishing, basketball, and bike riding with his children. He proudly attended Central High School and Pueblo Community College. He loved listening to oldies music. Richard was a momma’s boy, always wanting to share his stories with his mom. He enjoyed being outdoors spending quality time with Bennie just hanging out.

Richard is survived by his wife, Misty Duran; children, Adrianna Ybarra, Alycia Ybarra, Richie Duran Ybarra Jr. and Bennie Duran; brother, Raymond Ybarra; granddaughter, Honor Monge; nephew, Seth Gonzales; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved and will miss him.
