Rod Guilinger was born August 16, 1960 in Redding California but spent most of his younger years in Corning, California. Rod has been living in Colorado since 2016. Rod was a Hunter, Bowler, Fisherman also a Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother and most of all husband and best friend.
Rod is survived by his wife Patti Guilinger, of 34 years; his brother, Doug Guilinger and sister, Bobi Freemyers; 4 children, Billy Bates III, Brayanne Guilinger, Brittany Guilinger and Bailey Guilinger; 16 grandchildren, USMC Patrick Bates (Alexis Bates), Emily Bates, Danny Bates Jr., Thaddeus Bates, Ryan Guilinger, Ethan Guilinger, Rozalyn Guilinger, (his birthday twin) Zachary Guilinger, Willow Guilinger, Caleb Bates, Wyatt Bates, Davina Bates, Tommy Guilinger, Miles Guilinger, Kristefer Guilinger and Joseph Guilinger; nephew, Jeremy; nieces, Shay, Toreai and Jolene.
Rod is preceded by his parents, Ray and Donna Guilinger and son, Danny Bates Sr.
Rod loved to travel with his wife, he loved to explore and scout areas for the upcoming hunting seasons. Rod was a die-hard San Francisco 49er fan, win or lose. Rod was easy going, fun loving and loved new things. Rod went missing on April 17th doing what he loved most, scouting in the mountains, and on June 17th his body was found in a beautiful spot which brought closure for me and my family.
