Roger Clarence Ferguson Sr., 87, passed away peacefully Oct. 13, 2023. A Pueblo resident for the last 60 years, he was affectionately known as “Hollywood”. He was born Oct. 16, 1935 in Bluefield, West Virginia to proud parents Otis Woods and Rosie Hanley. Both precede him in death along with his brothers, James Harfney Ferguson and Ralph Hanley; brother-in-law, Curtis Mahen.
Roger was well known in the community, a social bug, he made friends with anyone he crossed paths with. Always a sharp dresser from head to toe and looking good. Roger retired from CF & I with 25 years of service at the Rail Mill. He managed several taverns including the Cosmopolitan, Klamm Shell, Broken Dollar and Town Tavern with his best friend Johnny Ducic. Roger enjoyed tinkering with his vehicles and boat. He was a great provider and loved his family.
Roger is survived by his wife, Valerie Ferguson; children Roger (Kathleen) Ferguson and Charlie (Tonia) Ferguson; siblings, Frances Mahen-Hill, Gladys Crocket and Vernell Hanley; aunts, Hazel Woods-Byard and Rebecca Woods-Boyd; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved and will miss him.
