Ronald James Courtney, passed away April 17, 2024 at the age of 61. He was born Feb. 3, 1963. He is reunited with his loved ones; parents, James and Frances Courtney; brother, Thomas Courtney; uncle and aunt, Tony and Stella Gagliardi; ncles, John Pusedu, John Kenny Courtney and Chuck Bonefield; cousin, Judy Pusedu.
Ron was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado; graduated from South High School in 1982 and attended CSU for several years.
Ron was a master carpenter; his love of carpentry began at Pitts Middle School where he learned the fine art of woodworking. He built numerous pieces to include a cedar chest, gun cabinet, roll top desk, cabinets, counter-tops, remodeled kitchens and bathrooms; built decks, gazebos and patio covers. He had the knowledge to fix plumbing and electrical as well as auto mechanics, dirt bikes and would tackle just about anything. At any given time of day, you could find Ron in the garage working on something.
Ron loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. Water/snow skiing, hunting, fishing, motorcross, biking, hiking, camping, kayaking, archery any activity outdoors he was the first one in the truck in the early morning hours.
He leaves to cherish his memory; son, Dustyn Courtney; brother, David Courtney; aunts, Elaine Pusedu, Betty Bonefield, Teddy Courtney, and Sherry Courtney; uncle and aunt, Ray and Cathy Courtney; best friend and former wife, Julie Pagano and her son Luke Fleckenstein; as well as numerous other family members who loved and will miss him.
