Rudy Fred Martinez

Rudy Fred Martinez, 73, passed away October 24, 2023. A lifetime Puebloan he was born Aug. 20, 1950 to Fred and Maria “Lilly” (Galves) Martinez who precede him in death, along with in-laws, Filbert and Tomasita Baca; siblings, Sandra Mascarenas, Virginia Santistevan; grandma, Mary Aragon.

Rudy graduated from Central High School and after worked at the CF& I. He was a guard at the Colorado State Hospital for over 32 years. He was an avid Broncos fan, supporting them win or lose. He enjoyed fishing and gambling. Rudy enjoyed playing pool, he played in many leagues throughout Pueblo. Rudy’s greatest joy was his family, especially his grandbabies, they were his little sidekicks, “Tata’s babies”. Rudy was always helping anyone in need, he had a heart of gold. He was a great husband, dad, brother, grandpa, and friend.

Rudy leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of over 40 years, Corrine Martinez; his children, MacKenzie Martinez, Melissa Martinez, and Rudy Martinez Jr., Timothy Martinez; sister, Urlinda “Pat” Martinez; grandchildren, Louellah and Pheonixx Pena, Matthew Gallegos, Khayman and Cheyenne Martinez, and Tasha Brito; great- grandchildren, Avah Garcia, Alexis Garci; God children, Joseph Mascarenas, Sheena Vigil, Xiana Vigil, Angel Waite, and Lil Isaac Vigil, Jr.,; several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends to include best friend Ernie Alarcon.

Celebration of Life 2 p.m. Friday,  Nov. 10, 2023 at Angelus Chapel. In honor of Rudy please wear Bronco colors.
