Russell ‘Rusty’ Charles Swerdfeger
Rusty Swerdfeger, 65, died in Denver, CO on January 21, 2024. He was born on December 16, 1958
to Charlene (Brown) and Raymond Swerdfeger. Rusty was preceded in death by his parents Charlene
and Raymond. Rusty is survived by wife Susan Swerdfeger, his children Russ (Candace) Swerdfeger,
Nick Swerdfeger, Jill (Brooks) Bennett, Dr. Amy (Cameron) Brown, and Samantha Swerdfeger; his
grandchildren Chase, Luke, Emma, Blake, Madeline and Olivia, Susan’s children and grandchildren,
siblings Keith (Sharon) Swerdfeger, Robyn Swerdfeger, Rayann (Sunny) Orr, Randy (Shelly)
Swerdfeger, Chris (Jack) Cook, many nieces, nephews, friends, and acquaintances.
Rusty graduated from South High School in 1977 and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado
State University in Fort Collins, CO. He spent his career working in the construction industry and
thoroughly enjoyed his work as a project manager and estimator. He left his mark on several
construction project in Colorado and throughout the Western US. He took tremendous pride in his
work and gained many lifelong friends in the construction business.
Rusty loved the game of football which he played as long as he could and then coached youth
football for several years. Rusty enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing having the opportunity to
experience fishing adventures in Alaska and Mexico.
At Rusty’s request cremation has occurred, his family will have a private memorial service at a later
date. Rusty will be missed by his family dearly until the time we meet again.
