**In Loving Memory**
Shawn Fred Silversmith sadly left us on January 23, 2026. He was born on August 28, 1991, in Gallup McKinley County, New Mexico, to Fred Silversmith and Rose M. Slinkey. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Derrick Skeets.
Shawn is survived by his sisters, Roxanna Skeets, Gabrielle Slinkey, and Stacy Slinkey; his brother, Darren Silversmith; as well as his legal guardian, nieces Ashley Marez and Roberta Marez. The Arc of Pueblo, and the many caregivers at Care, Inc, and Jordan’s Residential & Vocational Services, Inc. He took great pride in his Navajo Nation heritage and volunteered enthusiastically as a greeter at the El Pueblo Museum in downtown Pueblo.
An avid Dallas Cowboys football fan, Shawn proudly decorated his bedroom in the team's colors and blankets. He loved listening to heavy metal rock music and was a fan of bands such as Metallica, AC/DC, and Slipknot. Over the years, he attended concerts for Metallica and Slipknot and had a Slipknot tattoo on his forearm. Shawn was known for his bright smile and easy-going demeanor. He Loved to attend Native American Church with his uncle when he was in middle school He also loved Pow Wows and Sweat Lodge ceremonies.
His memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Angelus Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life immediately afterward at The Arc of Pueblo – 2705 Vinewood Lane, Pueblo, CO 81005
