Shirley A. Craig, 65, passed away April 7, 2023. A lifetime Puebloan she was born Dec. 31, 1957, to
Albino and Annie (Martinez) Madrid who precede her in death along with sister Barbara Suarez; pets
Lady and Bandit.
Shirley graduated from East High School. During her high school years and into her early twenties she
was an avid softball player. She was an experienced gardener with beautiful flower landscapes
throughout the front and backyard of the home she shared with her husband. The rose brushes and
other blooms she planted nearly 30 years ago still bloom in her gardeners to this day. Shirley was also a
talented seamstress who designed and sewed her niece (Shannon Manzanares) beautiful wedding dress,
she was know for creative Halloween costumes she made every year for her daughter and various nieces
and nephews. She was also known for her baby blankets that every baby in the family received upon
their arrival. She was a lover of animals and contributed to the ASPCA as a yearly donor. She will be
deeply missed.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband Bobby Craig; daughter, Amanda (Adam) Craig; siblings, Gloria
(Robert) Gonzales, Phyllis Madrid; nieces, Annie Gonzales, Natalie (Heather) Foechterle, Stephanie
(Nathan) Cromer, Alyssia (Tom) Cheatum; nephew Johnny Madrid; she is also survived by her extended
family and friends and four-legged campions Toby and Tess.
Funeral Service, 1 pm, Wed., April 19, 2023, Angelus Chapel.
