Tyrus Daniel Escalante, 82, of Pueblo, Colorado passed away on Sept 6, 2025. He was born on October 2, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to David and Viola Escalante.
Tyrus attended La Veta High School and Trinidad State Community College (AAS electronics), worked at Pueblo Army Depot (retired) and was a veteran of the U.S. Army (Big Red 1). A proud brown beret and heavily involved in the Chicano movement. Served many years as a union president at the army depot. He loved listening to music, playing his guitar, camping, fishing and spending time with family. Becoming a Father, G-Po and Great G-Po was a great blessing in his life.
He was preceded in death by parents David and Viola and is survived by children Ruth and Tyrus Jr (Carrie). Also, grandchildren Teresa (Charles), Angelica (Robert), Adrianna (Joseph), Benito, Janeli great grandchildren Ayedden, Ximena, Charlize, Arnez , Xaire, Zelaya, Xaniyis, sisters Edith and Theresa, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
