Vickie Ann Hansen

Vickie Hansen, age 76, passed away on November 19th in Pueblo, Colorado, after a brave and tender journey with Alzheimer’s. Even as the illness progressed, her gentle spirit and warm smile continued to shine through, reminding those around her of the loving woman she had always been.

Vickie spent her life caring for others, both at home and in her work as a nurse. She had a gift for making people feel safe, seen, and comforted. Her silly sense of humor could brighten any room, and her kindness touched countless lives.

She was the devoted mother of Shari, David, and Michelle, and a loving stepmother to Mario, Ferman, and Sabrina. Being “Grandma” to Andrew, Vanessa, Trent, Sean, Chloe, Evan, Ian, and Emma, and later a proud great-grandmother, was one of her greatest joys.

Vickie is survived by her sisters Cindy (and her husband Joe) and Cecilia, who held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her brother Eddie, whom she lovingly remembered.

Her lifelong love was her high-school sweetheart, John. Their bond was one of deep devotion, shared laughter, and quiet moments that brought her comfort throughout her life.

Vickie found peace in the simple joys—crossword puzzles, music that always lifted her spirits, and her cherished flowers, which she tended with the same tenderness she gave to the people she loved. These small joys reflect the essence of who she was: warm, funny, compassionate, and endlessly loving.

Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the love she poured into her family and friends will continue to bloom in their hearts forever.
