William Augustine Bravo, 74, passed away September 3, 2024. He was born November 28, 1949 in Redwing, CO to parents, Sabino and Dulcinea (Salazar) Bravo. Both precede him in death along with his beloved wife, Maria (Montoya) Bravo; brother, Benidito (Doneld) Bravo; sisters, Rose Alexander and Gloria Trejo; goddaughter, Melissa Bravo; daughter, Bernadette Bravo; nephew, James (Jimbo) Bravo; brothers-in-law, Edward Apodaca and Larry Alexander; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
William graduated from Central High School in 1968. Willie loved to dance and was a dancing machine. He worked various jobs in Denver and Pueblo, with his last one being a groundskeeper at Roselawn Cemetery. He loved spending time with his daughters, grandkids, his siblings and family members. William was an avid Denver Bronco fan. He loved his dogs, Diamond & Festes. He was a good cook and still prepared his own meals often. We want to thank his special friend and caretaker, Susan Montez for taking care of him like he was her own dad. Willie had lots of sayings he was known for, such as "Slow down to 90", "Take your time and hurry up", "What was your major description of this conversation?", and " As long as I have my Bud & Lenny, I am good to go". He also had a very distinct way of saying "Hello" when he answered the phone.
William leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Bea (Julio) DeHerrera, Yolanda Mercado, Maylynn (Jason) Mondragon, Angeline Salas, and Shawn Montoya; siblings, Ciriaco (Kathy) Bravo and Therese Apodaca; 20 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral Service, 10 am, Thurs., Sept. 12, 2024 at The Angelus Chapel.
