William L. Reed, 64, longtime Colorado Springs resident, passed away Jan. 16, 2021. He was born December 2, 1956 to proud parents, Clarence and Shirley (Benjamin) Reed, both precede him in death; along with brother, Reggie Reed.
William graduated from the former Colorado Springs High School, currently Palmer High School; where he was President of his class.
He retired from the U.S. Army with 24 years of service and a rank of E-7. He was a true G.I Joe, proud of his military service; especially to have been interviewed by 20/20 for his service in Bosnia. He loved being able to have dinner with the Clinton’s. He was also in the St. Barbers Military Club and Sgt. Morales Club. William later would retire with 17 years of service in the City of Colorado Springs Clerk Office.
William really enjoyed his retirement. He loved helping anyone in need. He was a sharp dresser, always very neat in appearance and anything he did or touched. Best husband, father, and grandfather anyone could ask for. His family was his world, and he cherished spending time with them.
William is survived by his wife of 40 years, Brenda Demouchet; children, Anthony L. Reed and Shanet Marie Reed; grandchildren, Ethan, Liana and Miranda Reed, Suvad and Mirshad Suceska; siblings, Patricia Abraham, Richard (Rufaye), Russell (Carol), Christopher and Donald Reed; in laws, Chris Baker and Debra Tyler; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
