William “Bill” Edward Zinanti, age 68, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of February 1, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Zinanti, brother Mark Zinanti, and countless close friends. He is survived by his daughter, Emily, and her mother, Pat Elizondo-Zinanti; his mother Jan Zinanti; brothers Bob Zinanti (Debbie), Rick Zinanti (Donna), and Mike Zinanti; sister-in-law Jehan Zinanti; beloved friends Donald Martin and Theresa Dale; and many cherished nephews, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, family members and dear friends.
Bill was born on December 25th, 1956 in Pueblo, Colorado to Marion and Jan Zinanti, the oldest of 5 brothers. His mother often said he was her greatest Christmas gift.
Bill found his greatest joy in the outdoors, sharing adventures with his loved ones while hiking, skiing, arrowhead hunting, fishing, shooting, and camping. Being in nature was his favorite place to be, and time spent there with family and friends was truly cherished.
From his high school days onward, Bill nurtured a lifelong passion for art and time spent making it was truly his sanctuary. He painted, drew, and created collages daily, for 50 years finding beauty even in the simplest of things. His unique perspective and humble spirit shone through in every piece he created. Bill was smart, kind, and had a heart of gold, qualities that were evident both in his art and in the deep love he had for his family and friends. He needed little more than the company of those he loved and a good marker to express his creativity.
Bill had a gift for making anyone laugh, and he made friends easily. His signature sense of humor, often punctuated with a “cuz”, “bud” or "fool," was something truly special and will be deeply missed. He was a smart ass, in the best possible way, and his quick wit brought joy to so many. This infectious humor is a cherished memory for all who knew him.
Bill's proudest achievement was his daughter, Emily, with whom he shared a special bond. She is a true reflection of the kind and loving man he was.
He often reminded his daughter, “everyday is a holiday and every meal a banquet” and to “have some f’n fun bub” - he would want us all to remember to be grateful for everyday and to truly find joy and have fun in our lives.
Emily, her mother Pat, Bill’s mother Jan and brothers Bob, Rick, and Mike; his family and friends will miss him deeply.
A Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Holy Family Church.
